VICTORIA – Premier Gordon Campbell released the following statement in celebration of Douglas Day, Nov. 19, the 150th anniversary of the exact day in 1858 when Governor James Douglas came to Fort Langley and read the official proclamation that declared British Columbia a Crown Colony:
VICTORIA – B.C. will mark the first National Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims, focusing particularly on the 116 British Columbians whose lives are lost in an average year to impaired driving, Solicitor General John van Dongen said.
